CHAINCOIN Masternode Setup Guide

NODEshare's easy step by step instructions

The process of setting up a remote CHC Masternode may seem daunting but you only need to follow a few steps.

Start with the checklist and work your way through the steps.

Step 0 - Checklist

You will need the following.

  • 1,000.1 CHC coins. You only need 1,000 for your masternode, but do need a bit more to make the transactions.
  • Latest version of the CHC wallet - check the CHC website for the official version
  • Order Hosting from NODEshare
  • 10 minutes of your time

Onto Step 1. Click on the below to get started.

Step 1 - Enable Coin Control

Go to Settings, Click Options, Click Wallet, Click Enable Coin Control

Step 2 - Create Receive Address

Click Receive, Type your masternodes Alias into LABEL. Alias can be anything, we often go with MN1 or MN2 etc… Then click Request Payment.

Step 3 - Send 1,000 CHC to the new address

Copy Address and close window.

Then click SEND

  1. paste the new address in PAY TO:
  2. type 1000 in Amount:
  3. click Send
  4. click okay to confirm the transaction fee

Note: this Must be 1000 CHC - do not alter this number for fees, they will be added on top.

Press OK on the Darksend notice.

OUR GIF uses Coin Control - but you can use the easier instructions above unless you’re installing multiple CHC masternodes now.

Using Coin control is good practice and required for sending CHC once a masternode is set up.

Step 4 - Email NODEshare the masternode Address you just created

Just reply to CHC Masternode Order Confirmation - [CHC1XXX] from NODEshare

Paste your address and send the reply.

Step 5 - Receive NODEshare email, Close wallet & Place the masternode.conf file

You will need to open the Chaincoin Folder in APPDATA. To reach this folder - start in File Explorer and follow the following tree:

This PC > OS (C:) > Users > Login Name > Appdata > Roaming > Chaincoin

Paste the new data from the file received from NODEshare into masternode.conf

If you can not see APPDATA - see this link on Microsoft for help

Step 6 - Restart wallet & Unlock the collateral & Start it

Restart Wallet so the changes from the masternode.conf take effect.

Click send. Click Inputs. In list mode there is lock next to your 1000 collateral amount.

Click on the lock - click on “unlock unspent” within the dropdown

Click the Masternode Tab

Select the the alias and click "Start Alias"

A message will appear that the Masternode was started successfully. Happy Dividends!

Please Note: it may take up to 48 hours to receive your 1st stake. This is because your masternode’s collateral must 1st mature.

Chaincoin has very, very large masternode network so it takes longer than most to get into the rotation.

Please contact support. If you have not received your 1st stake AFTER 48 hours.

If you have errors. 1st Recheck your work.

If you get the “could not allocate vin error” - check coin control and make sure that 1,000 coins are in the specified address.
